The Big House Buddy Run - Sheffield September

The Big House Buddy Run is a special 10k race with a very big heart. The Run has a special cause, at a unique location.

This event has been designed to help address the current problem of loneliness within our society. The race organisers have all gone through prolonged periods of loneliness in their lives. The sense of disconnect in individuals today is unprecedented in our modern history and the the raceis designed to not only highlight this issue, but do something about it. The race organises have personally experienced that during these heavy times of loneliness, running with a friend has helped to lighten the load.

The Big House Buddy Run is a 10km paved race, with a little bit of off-road and gravel track (<10%). It is a very special event in that it takes place on the grounds of the Fitzwilliam Wentworth Estate and runs through the most picturesque parkland landscapes with serpentine lakes, monuments and follies. However, the highlight of the Run is the palatial Wentworth Woodhouse itself, the largest privately-owned house in Europe. We have been granted never-before access to run the course through the grounds of the house, including the grand back garden. The race is satisfyingly fast, fun, and scenic, and is perfect for all levels of runner.
