Developed by the Mayor of London and his agencies, Prudential RideLondon is a world-class festival of cycling. The fourth edition will take place over the weekend of Saturday 30 July and Sunday 31 July 2016.

Wings for Life World Run May

The Wings For Life World Run is the first event in which the entire World can race together, simultaneously. This groundbreaking race format means that in 4th May, at 10am UTC and equivalent times across the globe, thousands of competitors will start to run on 34 race tracks worldwide. Big Issue London to Paris Bike Ride July

Starting in Trafalgar Square, professional cycling guides lead the way as your journey takes you through the lush greenery of Surrey and Hampshire to Portsmouth, before hopping across the Channel to cycle through picturesque French villages on your way to Paris. Having cycled 370km in three days, you get to have a much-needed rest as France’s capital city plays host to the final stage of the 100th Tour De France. You’re required to raise a minimum of £1,500 in sponsorship that also covers all accommodation, meals and travel costs.

Human Race Open Water Swimming Race May to September

Human Race organise a leading series of six open water swim events with options catering for swimmers of all abilities; distances range from 750m to 10km. So whether you’re a first time swimmer, a pool swimmer, a triathlete looking for some swim training or an experienced open water swimmer there’s something for you.

Great North Run September

Starting in Newcastle, the course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge, goes through Gateshead passing the famous international athletics stadium and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields. Live music, on-course refreshments and thousands of cheering supporters will keep you motivated every step of the way.

British 10k London Run July

Run past many of London's historic landmarks in this fantastic 10k event. Starting at Hyde Park Corner, the route takes you past Trafalgar Square and St Paul's to Tower Bridge, before returning alongside the River Thames.

Great South Run Late October

The fast and flat 10 mile route takes in the iconic sites of the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard including Portsmouth Cathedral, Spinnaker Tower and the HMS Victory- which has played host to the Band of HM Royal Marines, who often perform for passing runners at the iconic site. The final flat stretch along the sea front has given thousands of people the opportunity to get a personal best time for more than twenty years.
